High-Level event of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF)

On the occasion of the 2023 SDG Summit

18th September 2023, New York.

The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) is dedicated to enhancing the invaluable contributions of forests towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Forest Goals, and other international commitments.

In light of the significant challenges and opportunities associated with the protection, restoration, and sustainable management of forests, there is an urgent call for decisive action and heightened ambition.

The "Call to Action for Forests Towards 2030" encompasses four primary focal areas: Implementation and Action; data, science and innovation; finance for forests; and communication and awareness-raising.

CPF members are committed to reinforcing efforts at all levels to fully unlock the potential of forests in promoting sustainable development and realizing our collective vision for forests by 2030. These efforts are aligned with and complementary to commitments made at the SDG Summit.

During today's event, held just prior to the commencement of the 78th UN General Assembly high-level week, Member States and heads of CPF agencies elucidated how their respective organizations and nations are actively contributing to coordinated forest-based initiatives aimed at expediting progress towards 2030.
